Do you think you can get that “limited only”, high profile job you (and a thousand more) have been wanting to get with just your resume? Probably yes. Probably no.
The resume is the applicant’s weapon. Like going into a war, the applicant is faced with the enemy and he/she has to have faith that the weapon (resume for that matter) will work. Ok, maybe that’s a little exaggerated but then the scenario is quite similar.
What you can do is to switch your approach: do a different kind of resume that will suit the company you’re applying to. If it’s a writing job, you may want to give the HR your resume—in a narrative form.
Or perhaps, if you’re applying for an advertising company, you may want to present your resume in a pop-up book style.
Ok, maybe that’s too much. But who knows?
